IVF Center
High pregnancy rates and pleasing results with advanced technology… The IVF center team at BHT Clinic Istanbul Tema Hospital consists of doctors and embryologists. An average of 600 patients are treated annually at the center, which is sought by patients from both within the country and abroad for IVF treatment. In the IVF center, established with advanced technology, high pregnancy rates and pleasing results are achieved by following the latest global developments.
IVF (In Vitro Fertilization)
Couples are considered infertile if pregnancy does not occur despite having unprotected sexual intercourse for a period of one year. These couples need to be investigated and treated. In couples where the woman's age is advanced, this one-year waiting period may be even shorter (over 35 years, 6 months; over 40 years, 3 months). After this stage, all tests and treatments performed to help achieve pregnancy are called assisted reproductive techniques.
The IVF method is a long-used assisted reproductive technique applied to couples who cannot have children. Today, IVF is the leading infertility treatment of choice.
Who is IVF for?
Couples can have a baby with the IVF method in cases of unexplained infertility in both women and men, infections, blocked tubes, low sperm quality in men, or conditions that may arise from advanced age.
IVF Treatment
It is the process of collecting female reproductive cells (eggs) and male reproductive cells (sperm) and bringing them together outside the body in a laboratory environment to achieve fertilization.
The fertilized eggs begin to divide, spending the embryo stage in the laboratory environment, before being placed in the mother-to-be's uterus. The resulting pregnancy is no different from a naturally occurring pregnancy.
The difference between IVF and natural pregnancy is that the fertilization process is carried out in laboratory conditions and the fertilized eggs are placed back into the mother's uterus.
IUI (Intrauterine Insemination)
IUI is mostly preferred in cases of unexplained infertility. Being a less demanding procedure than IVF treatment makes it preferable for suitable individuals. However, in some cases, such as low sperm count in men, the IUI method is not preferred. Couples who cannot have children naturally resort to assisted birth treatments. IVF treatment is often more preferred, but for some couples, the IUI method can be tried before IVF treatment. Since this method is less costly and easier, it can be tried before IVF treatment.
Who is IUI for?
It is generally preferred in cases of male infertility. In addition, the presence of some sexual or gynecological problems that may be related to women and men may require the application of IUI.
- Ovulation problems,
- Cervical problems,
- Mild impairment in sperm count,
- Early stages of endometriosis,
- Unexplained infertility
- Conditions that prevent sexual intercourse, such as erection or uterine entry problems.
IUI Treatment
It is the process of processing sperm in an external environment and transferring it into the uterus. Fertilization and embryo formation develop naturally in the fallopian tubes. It is often used in the treatment of infertility caused by male factors.
