Adulthood is defined as the age group including individuals over 18 years of age. Diagnosis and treatment services are provided for a wide group of diseases in individuals above this age limit, primarily depression, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, schizophrenia and other thought disorders, which present with symptoms such as depressed mood, anxiety, intense fears, worry, obsession, suspicion, insomnia, eating irregularities, and similar symptoms, as well as dementias and related behavioral disorders falling within the scope of geriatric psychiatry.
