Urology

In our urology clinic, we provide services for the diagnosis and medical or surgical treatment of kidney, urinary tract, and bladder diseases for our female, male, and pediatric patients. Additionally, we treat prostate and testicular diseases, infertility, sexual dysfunctions, and sexually transmitted diseases in our male patients. Urology is the branch of science that deals with diseases of the urinary tract (kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra) in men and women.

Urology Diagnosis and Treatment Areas:

  • Laboratory Tests
  • Ultrasound (Urinary USG, Doppler USG, Transrectal USG)
  • Uroflowmetry (Urination Test)
  • Computed Tomography (CT) / Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Voiding Cystourethrography
  • Urodynamics
  • Prostate Biopsy, Ultrasound-guided and MR Fusion (General Anesthesia / Local Anesthesia)

What Diseases Does the Urology Department Treat?

  • Kidney Diseases (Kidney Stone, Nephritis, Kidney Cysts, Kidney Tumors, Hypertension, Acute Pyelonephritis, Amyloidosis, Renal Artery Stenosis)
  • Bladder Diseases (Cystitis, Bladder Cancer, Urinary Incontinence)
  • Prostate Diseases (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), Prostatitis, Prostate Cancer)
  • Testicular Diseases (Testicular Cancer, Undescended Testis, Varicocele)
  • Male Infertility
  • Pediatric Urology
  • Female Urology
  • Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Urological Surgery
  • Prostatitis, an inflammation of the prostate gland
  • Varicoceles or enlarged veins in the scrotum
  • Prostate gland enlargement

Pediatric Urology

In pediatric urology, the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of congenital or later acquired diseases of the child's excretory and reproductive organs are performed.

Female Urology

In female urology, a wide range of diseases such as urinary incontinence, interstitial cystitis, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse (cystocele, rectocele, etc.), pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, sexually transmitted diseases, and urinary tract infections are treated. The aim is to effectively treat patients while rehabilitating them in the most appropriate way and increasing their quality of life. Stress urinary incontinence and overactive bladder syndrome, which are very common in women, are among the most intensively treated diseases.

Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Urological Surgery

Urology, like all other surgical branches, has undergone rapid change over the last 20 years, and the open surgical methods applied in the past have been largely abandoned in favor of endoscopic or laparoscopic techniques.

In laparoscopic and robotic urological surgery, procedures similar to those in open surgery are performed by adhering to similar principles, with the help of a camera and hand tools sent into the abdomen through incisions of about 1 cm made in the abdominal wall. In robotic surgery, the hand tools are used by the surgeon performing the operation not directly, but through a system called a robot. Today, while the laparoscopic method is generally applied in surgeries performed for the kidney (pyeloplasty, removal of kidney cysts, removal of the entire kidney or just the tumor for kidney cancer), robotic systems are particularly preferred in prostate cancer surgery.

In the endoscopic/endourological method, the target tissue/cavity is reached using a natural orifice. In urology, the path through which urine is expelled from the body is used in reverse. In this way, it is possible to reach the urethra, bladder, ureters, and kidneys and to both diagnose and treat diseases such as stones, tumors, and strictures.
