The Pediatric Cardiology department is a scientific discipline that deals with congenital/acquired heart diseases, covering the period from the fetal (prenatal) stage to newborn, infancy, adolescence, and even young adulthood, undertaking their diagnosis, follow-up, and treatment.

- Murmur
- Chest Pain
- Cyanosis (bluish discoloration)
- Fainting

When to Consult the Pediatric Cardiology Department?
- For control purposes in the newborn and early infancy period for early diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases, without waiting for complaints or findings to emerge,
- If a heart murmur is heard during an examination,
- In case of complaints that may be related to heart diseases such as chest pain, palpitations, fainting, easy fatigability, cyanosis,
- To investigate the possibility of cardiac rheumatism in cases of joint pain/swelling, redness, etc.,
- To check for dilation in the heart vessels in cases accompanied by fever lasting more than 5 days and rash, redness on the palms and soles, redness and cracking of the lips, etc.,
- For screening for heart diseases before participating in sports, and at least once a year for control if actively involved in sports,
- In cases of a family history of congenital heart disease (not limited to the above), it is necessary to consult the pediatric cardiology department.
