Adult Intensive Care Unit

When Should You Come?

Direct outpatient admissions are not made to the intensive care units. Patients are generally transferred to intensive care through our emergency department, from the operating room after major surgical operations, or from inpatient wards if their condition worsens. Furthermore, patients receiving treatment at another healthcare facility who require advanced (Level 3) life support can be transferred to our hospital via fully equipped ambulances. Expectant mothers with high-risk pregnancies carrying a risk of premature birth should also choose our hospital, which features a neonatal intensive care unit, for the safety of their babies.

Appointment and Examination Process

A classic appointment system does not apply to the intensive care process. When your relative is admitted to intensive care, a detailed evaluation is made by our attending physicians, and a treatment plan is created. Keeping family members informed during this process is highly valuable to us. Regular face-to-face updates about your relative's condition are provided by our authorized doctors at designated times.

First-degree relatives of patients in intensive care are given detailed information about the patient's general condition, treatments applied, and progress by our attending intensive care physician every day during designated briefing hours.

How is mother-baby bonding ensured in the neonatal intensive care unit?

We believe in the power of breast milk and maternal contact in the healing process of our babies. Skin-to-skin contact (kangaroo care) is applied when the baby's condition allows. Special support and training are provided for mothers to breastfeed their babies or deliver expressed milk.

What does Level 3 intensive care mean?

Level 3 (tertiary) intensive care is the highest level of intensive care where the most severe and critical patients can be monitored, advanced technological devices (dialysis, advanced ventilators, etc.) are available, and all medical branches can provide 24-hour support.

Why is an isolation room important in intensive care?

Isolation rooms clean airborne particles using special ventilation systems. They prevent patients with infectious diseases from spreading the infection while protecting immunocompromised patients from external microbes.
