Microbiology
Microbiology is a science that examines living organisms, such as bacteria, viruses and fungi, which can be seen with the help of microscopes called microorganisms. Some of these organisms infect humans in various ways and cause infection.
In the microbiology laboratory, various materials (swabs, urine and feces) are taken from the people and the cause of the infection is investigated with different methods and the most appropriate drug is selected to eliminate the infection.
Tests Performed in Microbiology Laboratory:
Serology Tests; (tests used to diagnose infectious diseases), hepatitis (A, B, C),
HIV
Routine Pregnancy Screening Tests: toxoplasma IgM, toxoplasma IgG, rubella IgM, rubella IgG, cytomegalovirus (CMV) IgM, cytomegalovirus (CMV) IgG
Tumor Markers: (cancer cell determinant tests) CEA, Ca19-9, Ca12-5, AFP, PSA, fPSA
Drug Levels Tests: valproic acid, carbamazepine, etc. (for dosage tracking of drugs used).
* There is also a Blood Bank (Transfusion Center) in our hospital. In the center, blood group (forward), blood group (reverse), cross match (compatibility), antibody screening tests are performed.
* All examinations not performed in our hospital are performed in the relevant laboratories with international accreditation. Studies in related laboratories include biochemical tests, microbiological tests, genetic tests and pathological tests.
